Willingham’s heroics carry Marlins

Another day, another walk-off in the park. The Marlins celebrated at home plate for the second straight game. Josh Willingham's second homer of the night came in the 10th inning off Jon Rauch, a leadoff shot to left that vaulted the Marlins to a 6-5 win over the Nationals at Dolphin Stadium.

The Florida Marlins' dugout had cleared and players were already huddled around the plate before Josh Willingham could even watch his game-winning home run sail. Willingham's winning homer in the 10th inning came after Hanley Ramirez's tying shot in the ninth forced extra innings, and the Marlins rallied to beat the Washington Nationals 6-5 on Monday night.


Jacobs looking for a rebound

No one will be more eager to flip the calendar to July than first baseman Mike Jacobs. Heading into the last day of June, he was hitting .196 for the month. The rough stretch lowered his overall batting average to .230.

Another rehab start on tap for Johnson
